Minnesota Christian School Football Team Gives Bibles to Every Opponent
According to Sports Spectrum, as reported by The Gateway Pundit, the football team at Park Christian School in Moorhead, Minnesota, has adopted a practice of leaving a Bible in the locker of every opposing player after home games. Head coach Baasch, who cites 1 Peter 4:10 as his inspiration, developed the outreach with assistant coach and pastor Ben Killerlain beginning with the 2025 season. Each Bible is accompanied by a letter from the coaching staff and a personal note from a Park player, with many players including their phone numbers so opposing athletes can reach out. Visiting teams are also given a meal for their trip home. Coach Killerlain described the program as an extension of discipleship, saying the goal is for players to be 'a witness for Jesus Christ' beyond the football field. Senior player Elijah Bjur said the team sees it as using their gifts to build 'our own ministry.' The school reported distributing roughly 200 Bibles across five home games last season, with more planned this season.
