Episcopal Church Names First Transgender Dean at Milwaukee Cathedral
The Episcopal Church has installed the Very Reverend Micah Cronin, a transgender man, as dean of All Saints' Cathedral in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, according to an Episcopal News Service interview reported by PinkNews. Cronin began the role in August, leading an LGBTQ+-affirming congregation with average Sunday attendance of roughly 70. Cronin, who grew up in conservative churches in rural Western New York that did not accept him, became Episcopalian at 19 after finding an affirming parish in Olean, New York, and later served as a transitional deacon in the Diocese of New Jersey. He described his appointment as evidence the denomination has 'taken a stand to welcome and include because of its Christian faith.' Cameron Partridge of TransEpiscopal, an advocacy group for trans and non-binary inclusion in the church, called the appointment a milestone. The Episcopal Church is the U.S. member of the Anglican Communion and has a decades-long history of internal debate over sexuality and gender doctrine.

Why Bible-Believing Christians Should Care
Scripture teaches that God created humanity 'male and female,' a distinction Christ himself affirmed as foundational, not a category to be revised by personal identity claims. A mainline denomination naming a transgender dean to lead a cathedral does not represent a new debate — it represents the continued institutionalization of gender ideology inside a body still using the name 'Christian' and 'Episcopal.' Believers who assume historic denominational names guarantee historic biblical teaching should take note: this is a case where the label remains while the doctrine has fully inverted. Congregants, donors, and seekers evaluating any Episcopal parish should not assume traditional teaching on sex, marriage, or ordination standards still applies.

From the book
Capture begins decades before a crisis becomes visible in the pew. It begins in the seminary. Activists understand a strategic reality that conservatives routinely ignore: whoever trains the clergy controls the future. By prioritizing academic theology, activists introduced critical theories under the banner of broadening the conversation. That produced a leadership pipeline in which the credentialed class held a theology fundamentally different from the theology of the people in the pews.
