Three Pro-Life States Sue New York, California, Massachusetts Over Abortion Pills
Attorneys general from Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas announced on October 1, 2026, that they have filed a federal lawsuit at the U.S. Supreme Court against New York, California and Massachusetts over shield laws that protect abortion-pill providers and distributors who mail the drugs into pro-life states, according to Louisiana First News. Louisiana AG Liz Murrill said Dobbs returned abortion regulation to the states, but that the three defendant states are using shield laws to nullify pro-life states' authority within their own borders. The suit alleges providers and companies have made false or misleading claims about the safety and legality of abortion-inducing drugs while knowingly violating Louisiana, Alabama and Arkansas law. New York AG Letitia James responded that her state's shield law protects providers and patients and called the lawsuit certain to fail. Alabama AG Steve Marshall and Arkansas AG Tim Griffin joined Murrill in defending their states' pro-life statutes. Louisiana First News reported it had contacted the three defendant states' offices for comment.

Why Bible-Believing Christians Should Care
Scripture affirms that unborn life is formed and known by God in the womb, and that civil authority bears responsibility to protect the innocent. This lawsuit tests whether pro-life states can enforce laws protecting unborn children when out-of-state actors mail abortion drugs across their borders under cover of another state's shield law. For Bible-believing Christians, this is not merely a states'-rights dispute — it is a direct conflict between laws that treat unborn children as persons worthy of protection and laws designed to place abortion access beyond the reach of any state that disagrees. The outcome will shape whether post-Dobbs pro-life statutes can be meaningfully enforced or whether they can be circumvented from outside a state's jurisdiction.
For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother's womb. — Psalm 139:13

From the book
Offensively, we use the law to dismantle unjust structures. Where a corporation or an agency violates the civil rights of religious employees, we sue, not out of vengeance but to enforce the law. And we challenge the authority of the administrative state itself, demanding that power return to the legislative branch where it is accountable to voters.
