What Alinsky tactic is being used

One of the thirteen rules is in play here.

Rule 4

“Make the enemy live up to its own book of rules.”

A Bible teacher at a school called Faith Academy pleading guilty to a sex offense against a student is precisely the gap Rule 4 exploits: the institution's own book of rules — its statement of faith, its standards for staff conduct — becomes the measure it is judged by, and the judgment lands on every Christian school at once. Alabama already supplies the written rules the institution will be held to: private K-12 employees and clergy are named mandatory reporters under Ala. Code § 26-14-3, and school-employee sexual contact with a student under 19 is a felony under § 13A-6-82. Any distance between what a school says about protecting children and what its files actually show is the whole leverage.

Counter-Rule 4 · Radical Integrity

Close the gap between stated values and actual practice before anyone else finds it. This tactic only works where the gap is real.

Close the gap yourself, this month, before anyone outside does. Get your own institution's child-protection policy in hand as a document with a number and an approval date; check that background checks cover coaches and volunteers, that training is annual rather than one-time, and that the reporting paragraph sends staff to DHR or law enforcement directly and not merely up the internal chain. Where a record does not exist, say so plainly and fix it in writing — and refuse to treat 'we have always trusted our people' as a policy.

Chapter 3 sets out the rules; Chapter 15 answers each of them in turn. This is that pairing applied to this story.
